The Denmark-born promising Nigerian striker Chido Obi may find himself in the Ligue 1 once the new season starts.
According to Soccernet, French side OGC Nice are in talks to sign the 17-year-old on a season-loan move from Manchester United this summer.
Last year the young talent joined Manchester United after having been a part of Arsenal youth teams system.
If Obi completes a move to France, he will link up with Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi at the Allianz Riviera in Nice.
In his first season with Manchester United Obi made suprising for his young age eight appearances across English Premier League and FA Cup. Even though the Nigerian striker didn’t score goals in official games, he did find the net twice in a post-season friendly game against Hong Kong.
Eligible to represent Denmark, Nigeria or England at international level, three years ago Obi played for U16 Denmark team. Then, however, he switched allegiance and represented U16 England team twice in 2023. Later that year he returned to the Danish team. As if for now he is eligible to play for senior Nigerian national team.
