Former Nigeria international Joseph Dosu in an exclusive interview with Footy-Africa has backed Afeez Aremu to make a strong impact in the Scottish Premiership following his move to Aberdeen.
The 26-year-old midfielder has joined the Dons from German Bundesliga 2 side Kaiserslautern, signing a contract that runs until 2028. He was officially unveiled by the Scottish club on Thursday.
Aremu is Aberdeen’s fifth signing of the winter transfer window after the arrivals of Lyall Cameron, Liam Morrison, Toyosi Olusanya and Per Kristian Bratveit.

Reacting to the transfer in an exclusive interview with Footy-Africa, Dosu said Aberdeen had secured a top-quality midfielder:
“Aremu is a talented footballer Nsnvery Strong on the ball. He reads the game well and he’s a disciplined player as well. In addition he’s Creative and can bring stability to the midfield.”
The former Super Eagles goalkeeper also highlighted the midfielder’s technical qualities:
“He is a player with good football intelligence, can also shoot from distance which is a strong assets and expert with long passes. He’s an interesting played and I’m sure he’ll succeed in Scotland.”
Aremu began his career at the Dosu Joseph Football Academy in Nigeria before featuring for Akwa United in the Nigerian Premier Football League. He later moved to Europe, playing for IK Start in Norway and Bundesliga club St Pauli before joining Kaiserslautern.
Dosu concluded by wishing the player well in Scotland:
“I’m happy for him. He’s a great and very hardworking player and may the land of Scotland be a blessing for him congratulations to everyone.”

Aremu, who enjoyed a successful spell in Germany, has represented Nigeria at junior international level.
