Croatian side NK Sesvete have invited Refining Football Academy of Kaduna forward Paul Thomas for a trial as they consider a move for the highly-rated Nigerian youngster, Footy-Africa understands.
The striker has already travelled to Croatia, where he will spend time training with the club as they assess his qualities before making a decision on a potential transfer. A successful trial could pave the way for his first move to European football.
Paul had initially been linked with a move to Hajduk Split after reports emerged of interest from Croatia. However, sources close to Refining Football Academy have told Footy-Africa that NK Sesvete are the club currently evaluating the teenager.
The trial is expected to give the Croatian side an opportunity to assess the forward’s technical ability, physical attributes and overall suitability before deciding whether to offer him a contract.
Thomas Paul has earned a reputation as one of the promising young talents to emerge from Refining Football Academy, with his performances attracting attention from clubs outside Nigeria. The opportunity in Croatia represents a significant step in his development as he looks to break into European football.
Should the trial prove successful, an agreement between the two clubs is expected to be discussed, with the striker hoping to secure a permanent move and begin the next chapter of his career in Croatia.
