Nigeria winger Yira Collins Sor is back in the news as reports in Belgium suggest he could be on his way out of KRC Genk this summer, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm.
Despite growing rumours linking him with a move away from Genk, sources close to the player exclusively told Footy-Africa that there has been no concrete offer for the former SK Slavia Prague winger.
“From what I know, there is no offer for Yira Sor at the moment and the player still has a contract with Genk until 2027,” the source revealed. “The player has also refused to say if he has been privately contacted, but I know there are rumours here and there. Nothing concrete or formal has been made so far.”
“During the last transfer window, a few clubs were looking at him and even when he suffered that long-term injury, some teams were still monitoring him. He has returned in good form now, so I believe they will come back for him. But as I am speaking to you, there has been no official contact.”

“The thing is, especially in football, anything can happen once the transfer window opens. With his contract situation, I think Genk may look to cash in on him, but they could also decide to offer him a new deal. It is a win-win situation for Yira. But for now, based on your question, there is no concrete offer on the table at the moment,” the source added.
After his compatriot Tolu Arokodare left the club last summer, Sor was also expected to move on, with clubs from Germany and France reportedly monitoring his situation closely.
However, none of those moves materialised and the winger remained at Genk for the current campaign. He has gone on to register six goals and two assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.
Valued at β¬3 million by Transfermarkt, the Nigerian winger is contracted to the Belgian side until the summer of 2027.
