Super Eagles midfielder Christantus Uche’s transfer to the English Premier League in the summer window was met with huge excitement, especially from Nigerian fans. Despite reports suggesting he could return to Spain in December, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm Uche is determined to stay.
Uche had a breakout season with Getafe last year, rising to La Liga in just three years after playing grassroots football in Nigeria. Following interest from multiple clubs, he secured a move to Crystal Palace in the summer.
However, his journey in England has not gone according to plan, as the midfielder has found himself frozen out of the team.

Since his move, he has made only six appearances in all competitions – one in the Conference League, three in the Premier League, and two in the Carabao Cup, a big drop from his minutes in La Liga with Getafe.
He has played only two minutes across four Premier League matches, all from the bench, sparking rumours of a possible exit from the club.
The midfielder was also made to train with the U21s at one point after he was dropped from the first team.
Reports from England suggest he could return to Spain in December as he looks to revive his form.
However, a source close to the player insists he is determined to stay and fight for his place under manager Oliver Glasner.
“The reports that Uche is heading back to Spain is not true, and the player has not said so to anyone,” the source exclusively told Footy-Africa. “Yes, it has not been the best of times for him, but Uche is a fighter, and he wants to continue to fight for his place in the team. It has always been his dream to play in England, and that dream is still alive”.

“He will remain at Palace as far as the coach wants him. The rumours will always be there because he does not play as much as he wants. However, he will remain with the club, and he is not seeking a return to Spain in January. If there is a new development, I will let you know,” he added.
