Nigeria Premier League side Abia Warriors may soon lose their in-form striker, Ijoma Antoine Desouza, as North African clubs intensify their pursuit of the 20-year-old forward, Footy-Africa has gathered.

Sources indicate that the young striker could be on the verge of sealing his first professional move abroad, with at least one North African club making a strong push to sign him away from the Umuahia-based outfit.

β€œIjoma Antoine Desouza has several options to consider, but a North African club is pushing really hard to sign him from Abia Warriors,” a source close to the player revealed.

Abia Warriors, for their part, are eager to retain Desouza for another season, especially as they prepare to compete in the CAF Confederation Cup for the first time in the club’s history.

β€œNothing is confirmed yet, but it’s likely he’ll leave. The next couple of weeks will reveal the final decision, especially with the new Nigeria Premier League season scheduled to kick off on August 22,” the source added.

Known for his bullish style of play and tireless work rate, Desouza was instrumental in helping Abia Warriors secure continental qualification. He ended the 2024/25 campaign with 12 goals and 2 assists in 34 appearances, cementing his status as one of the league’s most exciting young forwards.
