Norwegian side SK Brann have announced the signing of highly rated Nigerian youngster Chinedu Cyprian Ononogbo from Right2Win Football Club, marking another important step in the winger’s promising career.
The exciting 18-year-old, who can operate both out wide and as a forward, has signed a long-term contract with the Norwegian club for an undisclosed fee.
Speaking exclusively to Footy-Africa, Right2Win CEO Kelechi Nnorom explained why Brann emerged as the preferred destination for the player.
“We did have a few offers for the player, but Brann’s proposal suited what we felt was best for Cyprian for now,” Nnorom exclusively told Footy-Africa.
“He is an ambitious player going to an ambitious club, which is good for both parties.”
Nnorom also highlighted Ononogbo’s key strengths:
“The player is very fast as that is one of his main attributes. He is quick and very good on the ball when facing defenders, and I am sure he will be a success at Brann. We scouted him when he was very young from Owerri, in the southern part of Nigeria, and he has been with us for about six years now.”
“He had some football education in Russia before we brought him back to Nigeria, where he even played in the NLO for us. He was also in Bulgaria with Botev, but we couldn’t make headway there. I am happy he has now found a good place to showcase his skills. I have no doubt he will soon be a major star, not just for his new club but also for Nigeria. He is a bright boy with a great future ahead.” he added.

Right2Win FC continues to make its mark in player development, having already exported talents such as Mubarak Suleiman, who recently scored his first goal for Slavia Prague in the Czech Chance League, and Chinedu Isaiah, who is progressing with the club’s youth team.
Ononogbo arrives in Scandinavia after attracting interest from several clubs across Europe, particularly in Bulgaria, before Brann moved decisively to secure his signature.
Touted as one of the most exciting young attacking players in Nigeria, Ononogbo now begins his European adventure in Norway, a league renowned for nurturing young talent and providing a strong platform for development.
The youngster has already gathered valuable experience despite his age. He spent time in Krasnodar as part of a football education programe and has featured in various youth tournaments across Sweden and Denmark, experiences that helped shape his game and prepare him for the next level.
