Gambian forward Omar Jarju is set for a new chapter in his rapidly rising career after completing a loan move to Finnish Veikkausliiga side VPS, marking a significant step up following an impressive spell in Denmark, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm.
The 20-year-old attacker arrives in Finland brimming with confidence after a productive last six months in the Danish 2nd Division, where he featured for Brabrand IF on loan from AC Horsens.
Despite limited time, Jarju made a strong impact, registering four goals and one assist in just nine matches, showcasing his sharp finishing, movement, and growing maturity in the final third.
Jarju’s performances at Brabrand did not go unnoticed, with his consistency and attacking threat earning him the opportunity to test himself at a higher level.
The move to VPS—signed on Thursday—offers the young forward a chance to compete in Finland’s top league and further accelerate his development in a more demanding environment.
Jarju is viewed as a promising addition to the VPS attacking options as the club looks to strengthen its squad. The loan spell will also provide valuable top-flight experience, an important step for a player still in the early stages of his professional journey.
