Ghana Premier League side Accra Hearts of Oak is on the verge of completing a deal for winger Prince Kwabena Owusu from local rivals Gold Stars FC, Footy-Africa has exclusively learned.

The versatile attacker’s contract with Gold Stars FC is set to expire in three days, and the player has declined a renewal offer, prioritizing negotiations with Hearts of Oak, who boast an impressive record of 20 Ghana Premier League titles and 12 Ghana FA Cup wins.

A source close to Owusu revealed that the player has been training with Hearts of Oak for the past few days, and the club is keen to finalize a two-year deal with a €33,000 sign-on fee before Tuesday next week.

“Prince (Owusu) to Hearts of Oak is almost a done deal. He has been at their training ground for the last three days and will return again on Friday. The club wants to sign him on a two-year contract with a decent €33,000 sign-on fee. Talks have been positive throughout, and it should be official by Tuesday. He has given them priority since the end of the season, and the deal is now close to completion,” the source exclusively told Footy-Africa.

Last season at Gold Stars FC, the winger scored nine goals and registered six assists in 29 Ghana Premier League appearances. Over the past three seasons with the club, he has featured 83 times, scoring 16 goals and providing 13 assists.

On the international stage, Owusu has represented Ghana at the U-20 and U-23 levels. However, he is yet to receive a call-up to the senior national team, the Black Stars.
