A credible source has told Footy-Africa that South African coach Pitso Mosimane is interested in taking over as Black Stars head coach following the dismissal of Otto Addo.
The highly respected coach is understood to be preparing to formally express his interest in the role, which became vacant after Ghana parted ways with Addo Tuesday morning.
The Ghana Football Association has already begun the process of identifying a replacement, with several candidates being discussed internally. Mosimane, however, believes he has the experience and pedigree to lead Ghana into the next phase, particularly with the 2026 World Cup approaching.
Numbers tell the story: Otto Addo’s second Black Stars era ends in frustration
Currently unattached, Mosimane has recently been linked with a possible return to Al Ahly, where he previously enjoyed a successful spell. His availability could place him firmly in contention as the FA weighs its options.
Mosimane is one of Africa’s most decorated coaches, having won the CAF Champions League three times, twice with Al Ahly and once with Mamelodi Sundowns.
He also brings international experience, having previously managed South Africa, and is widely regarded for his tactical discipline and ability to handle high-pressure environments.
His most recent role was with Esteghlal in Iran, adding further international experience to his profile.
