Moroccan outfit Raja Club Athletic has completed the signing of Nigerian international Moses Orkuma on a two-year contract from Tunisian side Union Sportive Monastirienne for an undisclosed fee.

After a five-year stint with Union Sportive Monastirienne — where he served as captain — the 30-year-old Nigerian midfielder is set for a new challenge in the Moroccan Botola Pro 1.

Following his official unveiling, Orkuma spoke exclusively to Footy-Africa, expressing his excitement about joining one of Morocco’s most decorated clubs, outlining his future plans and reasons for making the move.

“I’m very excited to have signed a two-year contract with one of Africa’s most prominent clubs. This is a huge opportunity for me,” Orkuma said. “Raja is a great club with a rich history. I’ve known about the club since my early playing days in the Nigerian domestic league back in 2012. It was an easy decision for me — I didn’t even blink. I want to be associated with this great institution.”

“The club is ambitious and determined to restore its lost glory in the Moroccan Botola Pro 1, and I’m here to play my part in that journey. I came to win — win trophies and make my mark in the league.”, he added.

The Nigerian international began his professional career in 2012 with Nigerian club Lobi Stars before signing his first overseas contract with Libyan side Al Ahly SC (Benghazi) in 2013. After one season in the Libyan top flight, Orkuma moved to Tunisian giants Étoile Sportive du Sahel in 2014 on a free transfer, signing a four-year deal.

He returned to Libya in 2016, joining Al Ahli SC (Tripoli) on a season-long loan. Following the expiration of his contract with Étoile du Sahel, Orkuma joined Stade Gabèsien, where he played for three seasons before moving to Union Sportive Monastirienne in 2019.
