Bundesliga side RB Leipzig is closely monitoring Nigerian international Benjamin Fredrick. The German club is reportedly looking to attract the young centre-back to its squad, according to exclusive information from Africafoot.

True to its recruitment policy, RB Leipzig is always on the lookout for young players with high potential. This time, the recruitment team has set its sights on the 20-year-old Nigerian.

According to the report, RB Leipzig’s sporting director Sebastian Schuppan contacted Brentford management a few days ago to inquire about the defender, who is on loan this season to FCV Dender EH in the Jupiler Pro League.

The German club reportedly made an offer of €1.5 million to Brentford management to sign him at the end of his loan. There is also talk of a 15% agreement that RB Leipzig would pay to Brentford in the event of a sale.

Trained at Simoiben FC, Benjamin Fredrick is a modern back with blazing speed. Capable of defending well on his feet, the Lagos native enjoys the run-up to the attack.

This season, he has already played 10 matches in the Jupiler Pro League with his club.

His current Transfermarkt value is estimated at €400,000.
