RB Salzburg are exploring a loan move for Ghanaian attacker Amankwah Forson as Norwich City consider offers for the 23-year-old this summer, Footy-Africa can exclusively report.
Sources indicate that Salzburg have identified Forsonย as a potential replacement following the departure of Moussa Yeo to Swansea City and are keen to bring the Ghanaian back to Austria for this season.
Forson has struggled to establish himself since joining Norwich in a โฌ4.5 million deal two years ago, and both the player and the Championship club are now open to finding a solution during the current transfer window.
Footy-Africa understands the Ghana international has been training with Norwich’s Under-21 squad, further fuelling speculation over his future at Carrow Road.
The versatile attacker has made 40 league appearances for Norwich, scoring four goals and providing three assists, but has been unable to cement a regular place in the first team. He still has two years remaining on his contract.
Salzburg believe a return to Austria could help Amankwah rediscover the form that made him one of Ghana’s most highly rated young talents. The Austrian champions are currently assessing the structure of a potential loan deal, with discussions expected to continue in the coming days.
Norwich are prepared to sanction a departure if an agreement can be reached that benefits all parties, with Forson eager to secure regular first-team football and get his career back on track.
