Former Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh has suggested that Real Madrid could be preparing a high-profile move for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.
Speaking on the Global Football Insight Podcast, Oliseh said he had received “credible information” about the 26-year-old’s potential transfer from Galatasaray to the Spanish giants. He declined to name his source but described the rumours as “under the ground” discussions that could see Osimhen spearhead Madrid’s attack.
“There’s a lot of talk under the ground about the possibility of Osimhen being a candidate,” Oliseh said. “I am not going to reveal how I got this information… but when I heard it from a top personality, I was delighted for the young man.”

Oliseh also framed the move within a broader Real Madrid strategy, suggesting that signing a pure centre-forward could allow Kylian Mbappé to operate more freely on the left wing.
Osimhen has been in sensational form since joining Galatasaray permanently in July 2025 for a Turkish-record €75 million, following a successful loan spell. Last season, he scored 37 goals and provided eight assists in 41 appearances, guiding the Istanbul side to a domestic double and finishing as the Super Lig’s top scorer.
The forward has carried his scoring run into Europe, netting six goals in just three Champions League games this season.
