The 27-year-old’s contract at Radnik Surdulica, which was set to run down in June 2026, will now be extended for a further two campaigns. He has been at the club for the past three seasons, having joined them from another Serbian side, FK Radnick Sremska Mitrovica.

“They (Radnik Surdulica) have wanted to extend his (Abubakar’s) contract way before the end of last season, for an additional two years, and an agreement has finally been reached at, with official communication set to come out before this week ends. The player demanded for improved wages and the club didn’t hesitate, as they view him as a major pillar of the squad,” the source exclusively intimated to Footy-Africa.
In the concluded 2024/25 season, Abubakar managed 21 appearances across the Serbian Prva Liga and the domestic Cup, and has already played twice in the new campaign.
