There are currently no talks over a contract extension between Al Fayha and Fashion Sakala, with his deal set to expire in June this year, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm.
After two seasons at Al Fayha, where he has recorded 41 goals and 18 assists in 102 appearances, Sakala is now considering a move elsewhere.
Footy-Africa understands that no extension discussions are ongoing, as the player is keen to explore new opportunities, despite being highly valued at Al Fayha, where he is now the clubโs all-time top scorer.
This season, Sakala has scored 11 goals and provided four assists, attracting interest from several Saudi clubs.
Meanwhile, reports in Europe indicate that French side RC Lens, who have been monitoring him for months, are interested in securing his signature. The club views him as a primary target and is pushing to bring him back to Europe.
Lens are hoping to use the appeal of European competition next season, including the potential of UEFA Champions League football, as a key factor in persuading the player. Talks with his representatives have been ongoing as the club assesses the conditions of a possible deal.
Sources have exclusively told Footy-Africa that while Sakala is open to a return to Europe, his decision will ultimately depend on the offers received. A stay in Saudi Arabia also remains a strong possibility.
