Senegal vs Peru match preview
Senegal secured victory after a remarkable tournament at the 2025 AFCON tournament in Morocco, defeating the host in a drama-filled final match. Despite CAF overturn of the result and awarding the win to Morocco by forfeit, the Lions of Teranga still plan to present their trophy to supporters when they take on Peru at the iconic Stade de France Stadium. The 2021 African champions will then return to the Stade Me Abdoulaye Wade in Diamniadio Senegal three days later.

Peru, meanwhile, failed to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, marking their second consecutive absence after a dismal qualifying campaign which saw them finish in ninth-place out of the 10 teams in the South American process. La Blanquirroja will now face Senegal on Saturday, before playing their second match of the window against Honduras next Tuesday.

Prediction
Senegal look the stronger team on paper, and with Peru struggling for form lately and showing defensive weaknesses, they should be well on course for a comfortable win.

The Crystal Palace forward was one of the standout performers at the 2025 AFCON, and he will be eager to carry that momentum into the game against Peru.
With his pace and knack for scoring important goals, Ismaila Sarr could be a real handful for Peru’s defence in this clash.
