Sevilla FC have moved to protect their prize asset Akor Adams, slapping a €30m (£25.3m) valuation on the striker following a meteoric rise in form and a standout performance at the Africa Cup of Nations, according to Fichajes.
The 25-year-old, who arrived from Montpellier for just €5.5m exactly one year ago today, has transformed from a risky bet into one of LaLiga’s most clinical finishers under manager Matías Almeyda.
Despite a difficult adaptation period marred by thigh injuries in early 2025, Adams has become the focal point of the Andalusian side’s resurgence.
New Sevilla talisman
Adams’ value has skyrocketed on the back of a lethal winter run. He recently became the first Sevilla player since Lucas Ocampos in 2020 to score in three consecutive league matches, including a brace against Elche on 19 January.
His current season statistics reflect his growing influence:
- LaLiga: 6 goals and 2 assists in 16 appearances.
- Match-winning impact: Sevilla have secured 13 out of a possible 15 points in matches where Adams has found the net.
- Physical presence: At 1.90m, the Nigerian has provided the traditional target man profile Sevilla lacked during the first half of the 2024/25 campaign.

AFCON Breakout
The striker’s reputation was further cemented during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where he helped the Super Eagles secure a bronze medal.
Adams was a standout performer, netting a spectacular goal against Algeria that was named in CAF’s Top Five Goals of the Tournament. His resilience also won praise back in Spain; he briefly left the Nigeria camp mid-tournament to attend to a family emergency before returning to help secure the third-place finish against Egypt.
Strategic Asset
With a contract running until June 2029, Sevilla are under no pressure to sell.
The new €30m price tag is intended to deter interest from several Premier League and Serie A clubs reportedly monitoring his progress.
| Metric | Details |
| Market Value (Transfermarkt) | €7m (Est. to rise significantly) |
| Release Clause (Reported) | Under wraps |
| Annual Salary | €1,880,000 |
| Status | Non-transferable (unless valuation met) |
Sevilla’s recruitment strategy, often criticized during their recent financial struggles, now looks inspired. By signing Adams for a modest fee during Montpellier’s 2025 financial crisis, Sporting Director Víctor Orta has secured a goldmine whose value has nearly quintupled in 12 months.
