Newly promoted English Premier League side Coventry City have completed a deal to sign Guinean forward Sidiki Cherif from Turkish club Fenerbahce.
The announcement comes just a few days after the club also completed a move to sign Super Eagles forward Taiwo Awoniyi from Nottingham Forest, as they continue to strengthen ahead of their first top flight campaign in 25 years.
Coventry City gained promotion to the Premier League after a lengthy absence and have now added another attacker to their side as they aim to stay longer in the league rather than return immediately at the end of the season.
They have now completed a move for Cherif worth around €25 million on a long-term deal. The 19-year-old only joined Fenerbahce in February but now leaves after just a few months, with competition for places in the squad set to increase this season.
The Yellow Canaries have added several other attacking options to their team and that could see the 19-year-old’s role greatly reduced over the campaign.
Cherif will now be hoping to use his pace and aerial threat to help Coventry City, beginning with a difficult test at Arsenal on Friday night.
