Mahanaim FC’s Director of Communication Aro Olaoluwa in an exclusive interview with Footy-Africa has said Czech club SK Sigma Olomouc offers the right pathway for the development of teenage forward Edward Jassy after the player signed a three-year contract with the club.

Mahanaim FC confirmed the transfer on Saturday following successful negotiations between the clubs.

The 18-year-old forward also has the option of an additional year in his contract with the Czech Republic side.

“Edward is a fasting rising talent whose potential caught the eyes of notable football teams in Europe, even outside the Czech Republic,” Aro Olaoluwa exclusively told Footy-Africa.

“We accepted the deal based on the fact that, Sigma is a good ground for young players and we believe in their plans and projects for talented players like Edward.”

While Jassy moves to the Czech Republic from Al Masi FC, Mahanaim FC say they played a key role in his early development in Abuja where he was groomed under coach Lawal Dankoli and his team.

“Our existence relationship with them is strong enough, and a product of Mahanaim Fc, Abubakar Ghali who’s One of top players there would guide and guard Edward professionally since he’s just stepping his footsteps into Europe,” Aro added.

“At Mahanaim Fc, we are always open to collaboration with other teams who have quality players. This is one of the reasons we collaborated with Al Masy Fc as our scouts found Edward worthy of being committed to as a result of his football gifts, hence, the collaboration came alive between both clubs through different exchange programs that have helped the kid.

Sigma offered him a 3-Year deal but I believe in Less than 2 years, he would announce himself properly in Europe and other big clubs will fight for his signature. He is a quality players. We have happy for him.”

Jassy joins Samuel Sokoato, his teammate from Mahanaim FC, at Sigma Olomouc, while former Mahanaim player Ahmad Ghali is already an established first-team player at the club.
