Sunderland have intensified their search for midfield reinforcements and are looking closely at options within Lazio’s squad — with both Mattéo Guendouzi and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru on their radar.
Black Cats manager Régis Le Bris has already acknowledged contact with the Italian club, as Sunderland explore potential additions ahead of the winter transfer window.
According to La Repubblica, Dele-Bashiru has emerged as another possible target. The Nigerian midfielder could be allowed to leave in January, with Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri reportedly open to a sale as he reshapes his squad.

For now, Dele-Bashiru is set to return to Lazio’s Serie A roster. He had been left out in late September to make way for Toma Bašić, but will be reinstated following Nicolò Rovella’s surgery for pubalgia.
Sunderland, meanwhile, are expected to continue monitoring developments in Rome as they weigh up their midfield options for the second half of the season.
Dele-Bashiru’s current Transfermarkt value is estimated at €7.50 million.
