Footy-Africa can exclusively report that Paul Onuachu‘s future at Trabzonspor remains one of the key issues yet to be resolved by the club’s hierarchy as the new season approaches.
Onuachu has attracted interest from several clubs following his record-breaking performances for Trabzonspor last season.
Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli have maintained a strong interest in the former Southampton forward over the past few months.
Sources have also told Footy-Africa that Turkish giants Fenerbahce and Besiktas are keen on signing the Nigerian international this summer.
Footy-Africa understands that Trabzonspor have already rejected two separate offers from Fenerbahce, with both bids falling short of the club’s valuation. But Besiktas are yet to put in a bid.
Paul Onuachu set to leave Trabzonspor despite rejected Al Ahli bid
While Onuachu has remained calm and respectful throughout the speculation, sources indicate that Trabzonspor’s hierarchy are set to hold a meeting to determine the striker’s future.
The club would ideally like to retain Onuachu, but could be willing to sanction a sale if an acceptable offer arrives. Otherwise, Trabzonspor are more than happy to keep hold of their leading striker.
The former Genk forward is valued at €30 million by Trabzonspor, with offers in the region of €20 million to €25 million already rejected this summer.
The player is also open to all possibilities but will not push for a move. He has already reported for pre-season training with the club.
The Nigerian striker enjoyed the best season of his career in 2025/26, finishing as the Turkish Süper Lig’s top scorer with 22 league goals and ending the campaign with 26 goals in all competitions.
