Former Super Eagles international Victor Moses could be set for the next move in his career, with a deal to join Major League Soccer outfit New York Red Bulls looking very likely.
The 34-year-old who was impressive in previous spells with the likes of Crystal Palace, Chelsea and Spartak Moscow, became a free agent in July, following the expiration of his contract at English club Luton Town.
Moses moved to the Hatters in the summer of 2024 after the expiry of his contract at Spartak, but was limited to a few appearances in his only season at the club. He played 18 league matches and missed the club’s final half of the season with injuries.
A move could be completed in time for the former Nigerian winger to join the MLS side, and with the Red Bulls club not involved in post-season actions, he would have sufficient time to familiarize himself with his new teammates. Here are three reasons Victor Moses will fit in perfectly into the club should a deal materialize;
Experience
Victor Moses has a wealth of experience playing across multiple leagues in Europe and has over 450 appearances in the top-flight leagues in England, Italy and Russia.
At 34, the former Nigerian international would bring the much-needed experience and leadership abilities to a young New York Red Bulls squad with an average age of 24.2, which could be very helpful in reaching the playoffs in the coming season.

Versatility
Victor Moses’s versatility makes him a perfect blend for New York Red Bulls style of play.
The former Nigerian man can easily slot into the right midfield role in the club’s preferred 4-4-1-1 formation.
The 34-year-old can also operate effectively on either wing and can also fill in at the wing-back role, with his pace and work-rate making him a valuable addition to the team.
Creativity
Victor Moses direct dribbling and crossing abilities makes him a perfect blend for the New York Red Bulls team.
He is an excellent crosser of the ball and will constantly have the giant figure of Cameroonian striker Erik Maxim Choupo-Moting to aim for in the box.
The former Super Eagles star will help boost the team’s creativity and contribute to improving their goal tally from the previous season.
