After impressing during his recent spell at Rwanda Police FC, Nigerian winger Odili Chukwuma has wrapped his move to seven-time Uganda Premier League Vipers SC, pending unveiling, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm.
The 23-year-old joined Vipers on a three-year contract as a free agent, having left Rwanda Police at the end of June. The player is currently undergoing his medicals, and is set to be unveiled later on Thursday, as per exclusive sources at Vipers. The youngster has received a sign-on bonus of β¬43,000.
The aim is to build a stout team to ably compete for the championship, and subsequent qualification to the CAF Champions League, the Uganda Cup, Super Cup and the FUFA 8 tournament.
βThe move has happened so swiftly and he (Chukwuma) jetted in Uganda last night from Lagos. He is now undergoing his medical tests, and will then sign a three-year contract worth β¬43,000 in bonuses. He’s a huge addition to the team, and is definitely an upgrade to what they have at the club,β the source exclusively told Footy-Africa.
In his time at Rwanda Police FC last season, the winger played 27 matches, with seven goals and 11 assists. In the 2023-2034 season, he featured for Bugesera in Rwanda where he played 18 matches with six goals and five assists.
Meanwhile, at the international stage, Chukwuma, has yet to play a competitive game for Nigeria’s star-studded senior national team, The Super Eagles. He has, however, played for the country’s youth U17 team in the past.
