Ghanaian attacker Wahabu Musah has taken a major step in his burgeoning career after sealing a permanent move to Spanish La Liga side Villarreal CF, bringing an end to his successful collegiate journey with Clemson University in the United States.
The gifted forward has put pen to paper on a long-term contract with the Yellow Submarine and is expected to begin life in Spain with Villarreal’s U-21 team, where he will continue his progression before pushing for opportunities with the senior squad.
Musah arrives in Castellón on the back of an outstanding spell in the NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer championship, where he established himself as one of the most exciting attacking prospects in college football. His explosive speed, intelligent movement and clinical finishing made him a standout performer and placed him firmly on the radar of clubs across Europe.
His rapid rise also attracted strong interest from Major League Soccer, with Colorado Rapids selecting the Ghanaian as the 26th overall pick in the 2026 MLS SuperDraft.
Despite that opportunity, Musah has elected to pursue his ambitions in European football, with Villarreal winning the race for his signature and offering him a platform to develop within one of Spain’s most respected talent-production systems.
