Footy-Africa can exclusively report that Watford are closing in on the signing of Kwara Football Academy winger Uthman Tajudeen, with the highly rated youngster currently in England undergoing a trial at Vicarage Road.
Footy-Africa understands that Tajudeen has impressed Watford’s coaching staff during his assessment, with the Championship club now weighing up a potential move for the academy standout.
Premier League side Brentford were the first club to show concrete interest in Tajudeen after a series of eye-catching performances at youth level, but Watford have since moved quickly and now appear to be in pole position.
The player is believed to have travelled to England recently and is continuing to train with Watford as discussions progress.
Should the deal go through, Tajudeen would become the latest Nigerian to sign for Watford, following in the footsteps of Odion Ighalo, Maduka Okoye, Samuel Kalu, Emmanuel Dennis and William Troost-Ekong.
Tajudeen has emerged as one of the most exciting prospects produced by Kwara Football Academy in recent years, attracting attention for his pace, technical ability and attacking awareness.
