Italian-Ghanaian defensive midfielder Wisdom Acquah is set to leave Torino on loan for the 2026/27 season, with Serie B clubs Catanzaro and Modena competing for his signature, sources have confirmed to Footy-Africa.
The 19-year-old is regarded as a promising midfielder and is expected to move to Serie B to gain regular senior football and continue his development.
Catanzaro held advanced talks with Torino on Wednesday over a straight loan deal, but the move was not completed.
Modena have since stepped up their pursuit and are pushing strongly to sign Acquah, leaving the race open as Torino considers the final decision.
Acquah made 29 appearances for Torino’s youth team last season and was also named on the senior team’s bench on a couple of occasions during their Serie A campaign.
On the international front, Acquah has not yet received a call-up from Italy. He is on the radar of the Ghana Football Association, with the 19-year-old among a number of foreign-born players with Ghanaian heritage being monitored by the association.
Both Catanzaro and Modena remain in contention, with the final decision expected soon.
