Ghanaian international defender Zakaria Fuseini has completed a move to Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko FC, signing a three-year deal that includes a €37,000 signing bonus, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm.

Fuseini confirmed his departure from Berekum Chelsea after a four-year stint, having declined a new contract offer from the club. He is now set to join the 24-time Ghana Premier League champions, with the official unveiling expected later this week.

A source close to the player has exclusively disclosed to Footy-Africa that Fuseini and Asante Kotoko have reached a full agreement, with the 27-year-old defender also set to earn monthly wages of €4,300.

“He (Fuseini) is effectively an Asante Kotoko player, it’s safe to say, after an agreement was reached on Wednesday. The only thing left is the unveiling, which may happen later today or before the weekend. He preferred the project at Asante Kotoko over renewing with Berekum, especially with the promise of €37,000 in sign-on fees and €4,300 in monthly salary,” the source exclusively told Footy-Africa.

Fuseini featured in 34 matches for Berekum Chelsea last season across all competitions, contributing three goals and one assist. Since joining the club in the 2021/22 campaign, he has made 101 appearances and served as team captain at the time of his departure.

On the international stage, Fuseini—whose Transfermarkt valuation is estimated at €125,000—has earned three caps for Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars. He has also previously represented the country’s U23 side.
