Zambian U-17 midfielder Vincent Mutondo is set to attend trials at Spanish La Liga 2 side Albacete Balompié, Footy-Africa can exclusively report.
The Spanish club scouted Mutondo at Central City FC Academy in South Africa.
Mutondo primarily operates as a box-to-box midfielder but is also capable of playing in a more defensive role or contributing offensively, thanks to his technical ability and excellent vision. The highly rated youngster will turn 18 on February 5, 2026, a milestone that could allow him to sign his first professional contract.
Sources close to the player have confirmed to Footy Africa that Mutondo will travel to Spain in January, where he could earn a professional deal.
“The Spanish club is very interested. They have watched him play and will host him for trials at their club in January. From there, anything can happen. He could be offered a professional contract,” the source exclusively told Footy-Africa.
Mutondo, who missed the Qatar 2025 World Cup due to injury, has previously had trials with several European clubs, including Anderlecht, RB Salzburg, and CD Tenerife, and will be hoping to secure his first professional contract in Spain.
