After a lengthy spell on the sidelines, Ghanaian forward Mohammed Aminu is now set to complete his move to Ghana Premier League outfit, Bechem United, Footy-Africa sources have exclusively learned.

The 24-year-old is set to land in Accra on Thursday for his medical tests, and subsequently sign a two-year contract. This comes after an extended series of negotiations that eventually led to a mutual agreement. The player has been a free agent since his release by Manchester City, as he failed to live up to the expectations.

Aminu, who joined Manchester City in the summer of 2018 on a four-year contract, was let go when his contract ran out, and has since been a free agent. While he was dubbed a better talent than Mohammed Kudus then, disciplinary issues have over the time shuttered his progress.

However, a source to the player has disclosed to Footy-Africa that he is determined to get his career back on track, and will use the move to Bechem as a stepping stone. He is likely to be unveiled as soon as he gets done with his medical tests on Thursday.

“He (Aminu) will be at the club’s grounds for his medical tests after the parties reached an agreement on Wednesday. He will then sign his two-year contract and official unveiling will then follow. He is determined to get back on his feet after a very difficult period. He is immensely talented and can make a leap again,” the source exclusively revealed to Footy-Africa.

At Manchester City U21, he made 17 appearances, where he scored two goals with one assist. As a Cityzen, he was sent on loan spells at Lommel SK, FC Dordrecht and NAC Breda in the Netherlands. Previously, he featured for Ghana sides Feynoord Fetteh and WAFA FC.

Meanwhile, internationally, the striker has previously received national team call-ups both at the Ghana U-17 and U-20 teams, respectively.
