Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is back in the transfer spotlight, with growing uncertainty surrounding his future at Turkish club Galatasaray due to links to several top European clubs, including Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
The Nigerian striker helped Napoli to a first Serie A title in 30 years during the 2022-23 season and then moved to Turkey on an initial loan deal in 2024. The 27-year-old enjoyed a stunning debut campaign in the league, breaking several goalscoring records, before his move was made permanent last summer for a fee of around €75 million.
Galatasaray faced competition from clubs in the English Premier League, as well as the Saudi Pro League for Osimhen’s signature last summer and could now lose their talisman when the summer transfer window opens, as he has continued to attract interest from the rest of Europe.
Spanish giants Barcelona are keen on signing the superstar, but the strongest interest appears to be coming from Germany, where Bayern Munich are eyeing him as a long-term replacement for England international Harry Kane.
How much will Osimhen cost Bayern Munich
Per Transfermarkt, Victor Osimhen currently has a market value of about €75 million, making him the most valuable Nigerian player in the world and the third most valuable African footballer in the world.
However, Galatasaray invested a similar fee to bring him in from Napoli last summer and it would take an offer well above €80 million for the club to even consider letting him go in the upcoming transfer window.
According to Capology, Osimhen also earns above €380,000 per week including bonuses, which adds up to about €20 million annually.

As a result, Bayern Munich could be looking at a total expenditure of well above €100 million to secure the services of the Nigerian striker, potentially making him one of the most expensive signings in the club’s history.
If the German champions are able to agree a deal with Galatasaray for the 27-year-old, they would be signing a top-level striker who still has plenty of years ahead of him and can striker fear into defenders across the league and also on the European scenes.
