Ghana winger Ibrahim Osman delivered a scintillating first-half performance to inspire Birmingham City FC to a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Preston North End in Wednesday night’s English Championship clash.

Playing at St. Andrew’s, the on-loan attacker wasted no time stamping his authority on the contest, tormenting defenders with his direct running and sharp decision-making from the opening whistle.

Osman’s influence was evident early on. Ten minutes into the game, he threaded a clever pass through to Jay Stansfield, who calmly converted to put Birmingham ahead. The assist highlighted the Ghanaian’s vision and composure in the final third.

Barely moments later, Osman turned from provider to scorer in emphatic fashion. Picking up possession on the wing, he glided past his marker with a quick shift of feet, cut inside, and unleashed a superb curling effort that nestled into the far corner, doubling the hosts’ advantage in style.

However, his electric outing was cut short just before halftime after he was forced off with an injury concern, having played only 37 minutes.

Despite his early exit, Osman’s impact remained unmatched. His contributions earned him the highest rating of the Matchday at 8.3, underlining how decisive he had been during his time on the pitch.

Preston managed to pull one back later through Andrew Hughes, but it proved to be no more than a consolation as Birmingham held firm to secure all three points.

The result keeps Birmingham’s momentum alive, while Osman’s performance, albeit brief, served as a reminder of his growing influence and attacking quality.
