Pep Guardiola has openly admired the immediate impact of Antoine Semenyo, who has wasted no time stamping his authority at Manchester City since completing a January switch from AFC Bournemouth.

The Ghanaian forward has transitioned seamlessly into City’s high-intensity system, already contributing eight goals across competitions. That tally adds to the ten he registered earlier in the campaign with Bournemouth, underlining a season of consistent attacking output.

Guardiola, speaking to TNT Sports, highlighted not just Semenyo’s numbers but his instant chemistry within the squad and tactical flexibility across the frontline.

“It’s really nice to live this experience for the first time, really pleased,” Guardiola said.

“Top! First day in the locker room, in that spirit, really good. He can play on both sides offensively, in the centre, scored a lot of goals in the FA Cup, in the Carabao Cup, in the Premier League, so really good,” he added.

Beyond the statistics, Semenyo’s adaptability has quickly made him a valuable attacking option, capable of operating across multiple roles without disrupting City’s rhythm.

Despite his strong momentum, the 26-year-old was given a breather during City’s FA Cup semi-final win over Southampton at Wembley, an indication of Guardiola’s careful squad management during a demanding schedule.

Semenyo is, however, expected to return to the fold when City make the trip to face Everton this weekend, where he will look to continue his impressive early chapter in sky blue.
