Antoine Semenyo is rapidly finding his rhythm at Manchester City, and he credits much of his early progress to working closely with one of the game’s most feared strikers, Erling Haaland.

The Ghana international, who made the switch from AFC Bournemouth during the January transfer window, has wasted no time making an impact at the Etihad Stadium.

With eight goals and three assists already to his name in all competitions, Semenyo is steadily carving out a role in Pep Guardiola’s attacking setup.

Speaking on the All Out Football podcast, the 26-year-old opened up about the influence Haaland has had on his development since arriving in Manchester. Rather than just admiring from afar, Semenyo is actively studying the Norwegian’s game, particularly his sharp movement and clinical edge in front of goal.

“He’s amazing… a top goalscorer. I learn a lot from him, movement, finishing, I’m adding it to my game,” he said.

That close-range education appears to be paying dividends. Semenyo has already marked his short time at City with silverware, playing a part in their triumph over Arsenal to secure the Carabao Cup.

With confidence building and chemistry developing within the squad, Semenyo is expected to be involved again when City face Burnley at Turf Moor. A win would not only continue their momentum but could also propel Guardiola’s side to the summit of the Premier League standings on 70 points.

For Semenyo, the combination of team success and personal growth alongside elite talent like Haaland suggests his rise at City may just be getting started.
