Serie A side ACF Fiorentina have reportedly terminated the contract of Ghana international Tariq Lamptey with immediate effect after the defender managed only 25 minutes of action for the club, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The 25-year-old completed a move from Brighton & Hove Albion in June 2025 on a four-year deal believed to be worth six million euros. However, his time with La Viola quickly turned into frustration after persistent injury problems derailed his progress.
Lamptey made just two appearances before suffering a devastating ACL rupture during his first start for Fiorentina, an injury that ruled him out for most of the season and added to his long history of fitness setbacks.

The latest development marks another major blow for the former Chelsea FC academy graduate, whose career has repeatedly been interrupted by injuries in recent years.
With the 2026 FIFA World Cup approaching, the timing is particularly concerning for the Ghana international. Lamptey featured for Ghana at the 2022 tournament in Qatar and had hoped to play a key role again when the competition heads to North America next year.
However, prolonged inactivity and ongoing injury concerns now leave his international future uncertain as he attempts to rebuild both his fitness and career momentum.
