Barcelona’s pursuit of Belgian-Ghanaian winger Jesse Bisiwu has cooled significantly in recent weeks as Club Brugge remain unwilling to lower their demands for the highly-rated teenager, sources have revealed to Footy-Africa.
The Spanish champions have followed the 18-year-old’s development closely over the past year and identified him as one of several promising young players capable of strengthening the club’s future attacking options.
However, negotiations have become increasingly complicated due to Club Brugge’s firm stance on the player’s valuation.
Club Brugge demand β¬2 million for Barcelona target Jesse Bisiwu
Sources have indicated that the Belgian club continue to demand a transfer fee of β¬2 million in addition to a future sell-on clause, conditions that Barcelona currently consider excessive for a player who is still developing and has yet to establish himself at senior level.
As a result, Barcelona’s recruitment team has begun exploring alternative targets and has already made contact with other young wingers across Europe. The club remains determined to add a talented wide player to its ranks, but Bisiwu is no longer viewed as the leading candidate.
While the deal is not completely off the table, sources say the chances of the teenager moving to Camp Nou this summer have decreased considerably.
Club Brugge are in a strong negotiating position given that Bisiwu remains under contract until June 2027.
The winger enjoyed a promising 2025/26 campaign with Club NXT, making 15 appearances in the Challenger Pro League. He also impressed in the UEFA Youth League, scoring three goals and providing one assist in eight matches.

Bisiwu has represented Belgium at youth level from Under-15 to Under-19 but remains eligible to play for Ghana, making him a player of interest for both countries as his career continues to progress.
