Super Eagles striker Akor Adams is on the verge of completing a move to newly promoted Serie A side Venezia this summer.

The 26-year-old has been a subject of intense transfer speculation since the end of last season, with interest from French side Olympique Marseille, as well as Venezia, both of whom were keen on strengthening their attack ahead of next season.

However, Marseille pulled out of the deal due to financial constraints, before Venezia have now struck an agreement with Sevilla on the details of a transfer.

The Winged Lions have agreed a deal that could exceed €23 million, becoming the most expensive addition in the history of the club.

Adams will now be expected to complete the remaining formalities for the transfer and head to Italy for the next step of his career, as he would be tasked with leading the attack for the newly promoted Serie A side next season.

Transfer fee and contract details

Venezia have reached an agreement with Sevilla on a deal north of €23 million to sign Akor Adams this summer. The fee is made up of a guaranteed €16 million fee, which represents a new club-record for the Italian club.

It marks a massive profit for Sevilla, who only signed Adams for around €5.5 million from French side Montpellier in January 2025 and had been forced to sell due to financial difficulties.

The Italian side saw off competition from Marseille, although their interest faded off during the last few weeks after they were hit with a major fine by the French authorities.

Salary details

Per Capology, Adams earned around €2.36 million per year at Sevilla and will be expected to receive a massive upgrade on his earnings once his move to Venezia is finalized.

The Nigerian forward has already reached an agreement on personal terms with the Italian club and the transfer is expected to be completed in the coming days.

Venezia’s total investments could exceed €35 million depending on the length of the contract he signs and has already made him the most valuable addition in the club’s history.

From Sevilla to Venice

Akor Adams joined Sevilla from Montpellier in 2025 and after overcoming a difficult start, he developed into one of their most important players, playing a crucial role as they avoided relegation last season.

However, he is now expected to embark on the next chapter of his career at Venezia, where he will hope to hit the ground running at the club.
