Ghanaian midfielder Edmond Asante’s camp believes his move to Hapoel Petah Tikva will provide the right environment for the youngster to continue his development, Footy-Africa can report.
The 19-year-old has joined the Israeli side from Ghana Premier League club Vision FC on loan, making his first move outside Ghana.
Asante attracted interest from several clubs before completing the move to Israel, with Austrian side Sturm Graz among those keen on the talented midfielder.
Sturm Graz came close to signing Asante last summer and made another attempt to secure his services during the current transfer window. However, Hapoel Petah Tikva eventually won the race for the youngster.
“Edmond is a very talented player with a lot of potential, and we are proud of his progress. We believe he will do well in Israel,” a source close to the player told Footy-Africa.
“We think Hapoel Petah Tikva is the right environment for him to continue improving. The club and the coach fully convinced us that he will be taken care of and that the move will aid his development.”
Asante’s camp believes the move will give him valuable experience in a different football environment while allowing him to continue developing at senior level.
The central midfielder will now look to settle quickly in Israel and make the most of the opportunity as he takes another important step in his young career.
