Norwegian Eliteserien side KFUM-Kameratene have completed the signing of highly rated Nigerian midfielder Samuel Tochukwu from Abuja-based P Sports Football Academy.
A source close to the player has exclusively told Footy-Africa that Tochukwu has now settled in Norway and is looking forward to the new chapter in his career.
“Everyone is glad that the transfer has finally been sorted and Sam can now start playing football. He went there earlier in the year for trials and was successful. Honestly, I thought he would have started playing by now, but it is never too late.”
βA few clubs in Norway wanted to sign him, but because KFUM-Kameratene initially brought him to Norway for the trials, loyalty had to be the main thing. They see him as a good player who will become important for them soon, and I am glad everything has been sorted now. Hopefully, we get to see him put on that red shirt and show what he can do.”
The 19-year-old has signed a long-term contract that will keep him at the Norwegian club until 2030, marking a major step in his young career as he begins his journey in European football.
Tochukwu earned the opportunity after making a strong impression during a trial with KFUM-Kameratene. His performances convinced the coaching staff at the Ekeberg-based club that he had the quality and potential to be offered a permanent contract.
The talented midfielder arrives from one of Abuja’s respected football academies and already has experience playing at a high level in Nigerian football. Known for his ability in midfield, Tochukwu will now be looking to adapt quickly to his new environment and continue his development in one of Scandinavia’s competitive top divisions.
KFUM-Kameratene have handed the Nigerian youngster the number 32 shirt as he prepares for the next chapter of his career.
At just 19, Tochukwu has time on his side and will hope to use his long-term deal in Norway as a platform to establish himself at senior level and take his game to the next stage.
The midfielder will not be available for KFUM’s fixtures this week but is expected to become involved with the squad from next week.
