Gambian midfielder Alieu Jammeh has officially signed for Libyan giants Al-Hilal Sporting Club on a three-year permanent contract after leaving fellow Libyan Premier League side Al-Anwar Club at the end of last season.
Jammeh in an exclusive interview with Footy-Africa has expressed his excitement about joining the club and the opportunity to represent a side with a strong reputation both in Libya and across the continent.
βI feel truly amazed and excited about this transfer. Knowing the history and reputation of Al Hilal, not only in Libya but across Africa, makes this opportunity even more special for me. The club is regarded as one of the top clubs in Africa, and being part of such a massive club brings me a lot of joy and motivation.β
The young Gambian midfielder is also determined to contribute to Al-Hilalβs ambitions while continuing his own development.
βIβm looking forward to helping the team achieve its goals while also pursuing my own ambitions as a young player. I believe that with my quality, hard work, and commitment, I can contribute positively to the team.β
Jammeh has already gained valuable experience in the Libyan top flight and believes the competitiveness of the league has played an important role in his development.
βThe league is competitive and features many top-quality players from across Africa and Europe. Having the opportunity to compete and share the same league with players of that level is something I really enjoy, and it has helped me grow and gain valuable experience as a player.β
The former Falcons FC midfielder now takes another important step in his career by joining one of Libyaβs most recognised clubs, with Jammeh saying the history and reputation of Al-Hilal were among the biggest factors behind his decision.
Now committed to Al-Hilal until 2029, Jammeh will hope to establish himself as an important figure in the clubβs midfield and continue his rise in African football.
