Nigerian teenage midfielder Taiwo Maamun Alao has completed a move to Brazilian giants Atlético Mineiro after signing his first professional contract with the club.
The 17-year-old attacking midfielder officially put pen to paper on Wednesday, joining Atlético Mineiro from Nigerian youth club 36 Lion FC.
Footy-Africa understands that Maamun is expected to begin his career at the Brazilian club with the youth setup as he continues his development before making the step up to the senior team.
Although the financial details of the agreement were not disclosed, Footy-Africa understands that Maamun has signed a two-year contract with Atlético Mineiro.
The youngster has already gained valuable experience in Nigerian football, having featured for Nigeria Premier Football League sides Sporting Lagos and Ikorodu City.
His move to Atlético Mineiro is another significant step in his young career and provides him with an opportunity to continue his development in Brazil.
