Ghana-born striker Kelvin Yeboah is open to returning to European football amid growing interest from Everton and several other clubs, with the Premier League side currently leading the race for his signature, a source close to the player has told Footy-Africa.
The 26-year-old is considering another opportunity in Europe after an impressive season with Major League Soccer side Minnesota United, where he has established himself as one of the team’s leading attacking players.
The source revealed that Yeboah feels he left European football earlier than he would have wanted, but believes the move to the United States was necessary at the time to experience a new environment and rediscover his form.
Having enjoyed a successful spell in MLS, the striker is now looking forward to another opportunity in Europe and is understood to be seriously considering his options ahead of the January transfer window.
Yeboah has scored 18 league goals and provided four assists in 32 MLS appearances this season, taking his overall contribution to 22 goals and assists. His performances have attracted interest from several European clubs, with Everton appearing to be in the strongest position at this stage.
The Toffees are understood to view the forward as a strong fit for David Moyes’ attacking setup and are considering a January move. Portuguese giants Sporting CP are also monitoring his situation, while other European clubs have expressed interest.
Yeboah could be available for a fee of around £6 million, making him an attractive option for clubs looking to strengthen their attack. His contract with Minnesota United runs until December 2027, leaving the American club with a decision to make ahead of the winter window.
The forward joined Minnesota from Italian side Genoa in July 2024 after previous spells in Europe with Sturm Graz, FC Augsburg, Montpellier and Standard Liège.
Yeboah, who is the nephew of former Leeds United striker Tony Yeboah, could now be heading back to Europe after rebuilding his career in the United States.
