Wolverhampton Wanderers are on the verge of landing Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare after reaching a verbal agreement with KRC Genk over a deal worth more than €20 million, Footy-Africa has exclusively learned.

Talks between the Premier League club and the Belgian Pro League giants have accelerated over the past 48 hours, with both sides now aligned on a fee structure that meets Genk’s valuation. The final paperwork and formalities are expected to be completed in the coming days, paving the way for Arokodare to travel to England for a medical.

Arokodare nears agreement with Wolves over a transfer from Genk

Sources close to his agency CAA Base Limited confirmed that the deal honours a gentleman’s agreement Arokodare had with Genk, allowing him to leave should a club meet their €20–25 million valuation. Wolves’ offer has now satisfied that clause, clearing the path for the Nigerian international’s Premier League switch.

“Both sides are in full agreement on the fee and structure; it’s now a matter of completing the final details. Tolu has always been keen on this move, and Wolves see him as central to their plans,” the exclusive source told Footy-Africa.

The 24-year-old goal machine has been one of Europe’s standout forwards this year, finishing joint-top scorer in the Jupiler Pro League with 21 goals and adding two more in the Belgian Cup. His 23 goals and six assists in all competitions made him Wolves’ priority target to lead their frontline heading into the 2025/26 Premier League campaign.

Arokodare, who began his career in Latvia with Valmiera before spells at Köln and Amiens, has risen sharply in the past two seasons. His form earned him a Super Eagles debut earlier this year in World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, where he opened his international account.
