Turkish champions Galatasaray seek to continue their 100% start to the season when they travel to Germany to face Eintracht Frankfurt in the opening match-day of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League season.
Ayomide Oguntimehin provides the detailed preview and betting tips for the September 18th clash.
Eintracht Frankfurt vs Galatasaray Match Preview
German Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt qualified for their third-ever UEFA Champions League campaign, following a third-placed finish in the 2024/25 season. They reached the final in their first tournament in the 1959/60 campaign, losing 7-3 to Real Madrid. In the 2022/23 season, they reached the round of 16 of the competition, before losing on aggregate to Italian side Napoli.
Galatasaray, on the other hand, are making a return to the competition after a season absence, following their participation in the UEFA Europa League in the 2024/25 season.
The Turkish champions’ best-ever finish was a semi-final exit in the 1988/89 season, where they were eliminated by Steaua Bucuresti. The Lions will be buoyed by the addition of 2023 winner Ilkay Gundogan, who joined the club in the summer.

Recent Form: Eintracht Frankfurt
Frankfurt have been in impressive form and have lost only two of their last 15 matches in all competitions. They have lost only two of their last nine home matches and are unbeaten in the last four.
Die Adler have started the new season in impressive form, winning three of their four games so far. The only blemish on their 100% record was a 3-1 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen last weekend.
Recent Form: Galatasaray
The Turkish champions are one of the most in-form teams in the world, having won 20 of their last 21 matches in all competitions. The only match they failed to win during this remarkable run was a 2-2 draw against Lazio in a preseason friendly match.
They have won all their five matches this season and have also won their last 11 away matches in all competitions.
Player to Watch: Victor Osimhen (Galatasaray)
Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen missed last weekend’s 2-0 win over Eyuspor with an injury which he picked up during the international break and is set to make his return in the UCL opener.
The 26-year-old has netted two times in three appearances this season, and he will be a handful for the Frankfurt defenders with his physicality and aerial threat.
