Nigerian international Bright Osayi-Samuel is set to leave Fenerbahce this summer after the club failed to offer him a contract extension, despite his willingness to stay, as per Nigerian journalist Buchi Laba.Β

Sources close to the player have confirmed that Osayi-Samuel made no financial demands and was patiently waiting for the club to initiate talks over a new deal. However, no proposal was tabled by Fenerbahce, prompting the versatile full-back to make a firm decision about moving on.

Reports circulating in Turkish media claiming the 26-year-old demanded an annual salary of €2.5 million have been dismissed as false. According to those close to the player, certain board members at the Istanbul-based club deliberately leaked misleading information to the press to shift the narrative.

Osayi-Samuel, who has spent the past three-and-a-half seasons at Fenerbahce, has already rejected offers from two Turkish clubs and is now weighing up interest from several teams in Europe.

The former Queens Park Rangers man, who has become a regular feature in the Super Eagles setup, is expected to make a decision on his next destination in the coming weeks.
