As the January 2026 transfer window draws closer, several Ghanaian footballers are attracting significant attention across Europe and beyond.

From Premier League forwards to free-agent veterans and emerging midfield talents, the upcoming window promises to be an eventful one for Black Stars players.

Here are five Ghana internationals who could be on the move when the market opens.

  • Jordan Ayew – Leicester City
  • Andre Ayew – Free Agent
  • Elisha Owusu – Auxerre
  • Razak Abalora – Zhenys (Kazakhstan)

Antoine Semenyo – Bournemouth

Antoine Semenyo is shaping up to be one of the hottest properties heading into January.

The Bournemouth forward has been outstanding over the past year, and his explosive style has caught the eye of several top clubs. Liverpool are reportedly leading the chase, with other Premier League sides monitoring the situation closely.

Should Bournemouth receive the right offer, Semenyo could secure the biggest transfer move of his career.

Jordan Ayew – Leicester City

Jordan Ayewโ€™s future at Leicester City is unclear, and January could provide answers.

By the time the window opens, the Ghanaian forward will have just six months left on his contract, with no renewal talks underway. Leicester may choose to cash in rather than risk losing him for free in June.

With his vast Premier League experience, Ayew is expected to draw interest from clubs seeking a reliable attacking option.

Andre Ayew – Free Agent

Veteran forward Andre Ayew has been without a club since leaving Le Havre in June 2025.

While no team has yet made a concrete approach, the January window could reopen doors for the former Swansea and Marseille star.

His leadership and experience remain valuable assets, and several clubs, particularly in Europe, the Middle East, or MLS, could view him as a smart short-term acquisition.

Elisha Owusu – Auxerre

Midfield anchor Elisha Owusu is also attracting interest, despite being contracted to Auxerre until 2027.

Championship side Middlesbrough and Ligue 1 outfit Lens are among the clubs monitoring his availability.

Owusuโ€™s composure, intelligence, and defensive discipline make him a strong candidate for a mid-season deal, especially for teams looking to bolster their midfield stability.

Razak Abalora – Zhenys (Kazakhstan)

Ghanaian goalkeeper Razak Abalora is nearing the end of his time with Zhenys in Kazakhstan, with his contract expiring this month.

Asante Kotoko are preparing a January move to bring him back to the Ghana Premier League, where he previously enjoyed a successful spell.

A return home appears likely unless a late offer arrives from abroad.
