Zambia will be eyeing their first win of the 2025 African Cup of Nations when they face underdogs Comoros in a crucial match-day two clash at the Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca.
Ayomide Oguntimehin provides insight into the December 26th encounter.
Zambia vs Comoros Match Preview
Zambia return to the Stade Mohammed V Stadium to face Comoros, after a last-gasp equalizer earned them a 1-1 draw against Mali in their opening group match at the AFCON tournament. The Chipolopolo could book their spots in the next round with a victory in this encounter and will be eyeing another shock run, as they did in the 2012 edition when they claimed a maiden continental crown in Gabon.
Comoros, meanwhile, suffered a 2-0 defeat to host nations Morocco in their opening clash despite putting up a great defensive display in the first half of the match. The Coelacanths are into their second ever appearance at the African Cup of Nations and will be hoping for another remarkable run having reached the round of 16 in their debut appearance in 2021. However, they could be eliminated if they suffer another defeat in the clash against Zambia on Friday.

Recent Form: Zambia
Zambia are on a poor run of form and have lost five of their last seven games in all competitions, recording a single victory, a 1-0 win over Tanzania in October.
Chipolopolo must also improve on their poor defensive record which has seen them concede in six of their last seven matches, including multiple times in four of these games.
Recent Form: Comoros
Comoros have also lost all of their last four matches in all competitions, although they won all three matches before that poor run.
The Coelecanths have also won both of their last two matches against Zambia, although they have not kept a clean sheet in all their last five matches.
Player to Watch: Patson Daka (Zambia)
The Leicester City forward scored a brilliant header to equalize for his side in their opening match against Mali, earning them an important point.
His pace and constant runs behind the defenders will be one to watch out for in this encounter.
