Uganda will conclude their Group C campaign at the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 with a decisive clash against Nigeria at the Stade Olympique Annexe Complexe Sportif Prince Abdellah.

This fixture sees a proud East African side aim for a memorable finish against one of Africa’s traditional powerhouses.

Brief

The Super Eagles of Nigeria arrive in the game with confidence and momentum. After topping Group C with a maximum six points from two outings, a 2-1 win over Tanzania and a thrilling 3-2 victory against Tunisia, Nigeria have already secured their place in the knockout stages. Their attacking firepower and experienced squad have underlined their status as serious contenders this year.

Uganda’s journey, by contrast, has been mixed. The Cranes began with a 3-1 loss to Tunisia before earning a spirited 1-1 draw with Tanzania, leaving them with just one point and bottom of the group heading into the final match. Their goal for this game will be to finish their campaign strongly and potentially upset expectations.

Prediction

On paper, Nigeria hold the advantage. Their combination of depth, pace, and recent positive results at this AFCON makes them favourite to take all three points.

Uganda will bring determination and will be hard to break down at times, but sustaining that for 90 minutes against the Super Eagles’ attacking quality may prove difficult. A 2-1 win for Nigeria seems the most likely outcome.

Away Win (2) with odds of 2.34 on 1xbet.

Players to Watch

Victor Osimhen (Nigeria)

Nigeria’s talisman and a constant goal threat, capable of changing the game with his movement and finishing. He was a menace against Tunisia, as Victor Osimhen got his name on the scoresheet.

Ademola Lookman (Nigeria)

Creative and direct, Ademola Lookman‘s link-up play and ability to beat defenders could unlock Uganda’s defence. He has already scored two goals at the ongoing tournament.

Uche Ikpeazu (Uganda)

The Cranes chief attacking outlet has already scored at the ongoing edition. Uche Ikpeazu‘s hold-up play and aerial presence offer Uganda’s best chance of scoring.
