Portuguese club, Futebol Clube de Vizela, has officially signed and unveil 23-year-old Nigerian defender, Bright Godwin, from Portuguese based outfit, Amarante FC, on a 3-year deal, Footy-Africa exclusively reports.

The Nigerian arrives as one of the club summer transfer signings as the team bolster its squad for the 2025/2026 Liga 2 season.

Bright Godwin in the colours of Amarante FC last season in the Liga 3 (Portugal) stood out as one often the season revelation following his consistency and top performance week in week out.

In an exclusive Interview with Footy Africa shortly after his unveiling, Godwin reflected on his journey so far as professional footballer as well as his expectations with the club ahead of the new season.

“I feel great, I feel good like I’m a step closer to my goals and dreams” Godwin Said. “Most important objective is to get a promotion to the Portuguese first league with the club”

“Last season, the club were at the verge of returning back to Portuguese topflight league football but missed out by whisker in play-off. I know our quest is an uphill task but with lots of work and dedication, the dream is achievable“ soft speaking Godwin concluded.

Born Dec 5, 2001, 23-year-old Bright Godwin started his career with UK based outfit, Brooke House Football Academy, from where he penned his first professional contract with Belgian club, KV Kortrijk U21 in 2019.

The high-flying Nigerian wing back in 2019 played on loan with Lithuanian club, FK Riteriai B, from where he transferred to Portuguese club, Leixões SC, as a free player.

After 3 year stint with, Leixões SC, Godwin moved on to join, Amarante FC, in 2024 where he made a mark before joining Futebol Clube de Vizela in the current Summer transfer window.
