Kenyan football is holding its breath as one of its brightest young prospects Amos Wanjala edges closer to a landmark move in Europe, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm.

Kenya U-20 captain Wanjala is on the brink of sealing a two-year contract with Spanish La Liga outfit Valencia CF, a development that has ignited excitement among fans at home and abroad.

Speaking exclusively to Footy-Africa, a source at DPF Group, the agency representing Wanjala, confirmed Valencia’s concrete interest in the teenage defender.

“Valencia have followed Amos very closely for some time now,” the source revealed. “They believe his profile fits their long-term sporting project, especially his leadership qualities and tactical discipline at such a young age. Talks are at an advanced stage, and while there are still formal steps to complete, both the player and the club are aligned on the vision going forward.”

At just 19, Wanjala has quietly built a reputation as a defender well beyond his years. Calm under pressure, commanding in organization, and naturally authoritative, he has become a standout figure in youth football circles across Europe.

Wanjala’s story is one of steady ascent rather than sudden explosion. His footballing foundations were laid on the dusty pitches of Mombasa, where his talent first surfaced during school competitions. Those early flashes of promise earned him a pathway into Spain’s Nàstic Academy system, a critical step that exposed him to European tactical discipline and professionalism.

From there, his development accelerated. A move to Athletic Club Torrellano proved pivotal, offering him regular competitive minutes and a platform to showcase his growing defensive intelligence. Game after game, Wanjala demonstrated a rare blend of physical strength, positional awareness, and vocal leadership, traits that soon attracted the attention of scouts monitoring Spain’s lower divisions.

His rise culminated on the international stage, where he was entrusted with the captain’s armband for Kenya’s U-20 national team. In that role, Wanjala didn’t just marshal the backline; he embodied composure, responsibility, and ambition, reinforcing the belief that he was ready for a bigger stage.

Now, with Valencia CF looming on the horizon, Wanjala stands at the threshold of a defining chapter. Should the move be finalized, it would mark more than a transfer, it would signal a new pathway for Kenyan talent daring to dream beyond borders.
